How many days can I leave my dog alone? Sometimes, for work or family reasons, we have no choice but to leave our furry alone at home for a while. But if we consider that this is an animal that is not prepared to live alone, finding the answer to the question is not always easy.
The dog depends a lot on the human for everything, so it is normal that while we are absent it feels sad and / or depressed. What can be done to avoid it?
Dogs cannot be left alone 24 hours a day. It is true that if we leave them water, food and toys for three days or less, nothing (physical) will happen to them, but they will have a hard time emotionally. Therefore, it is highly recommended to plan your trips well in advance so that we can find someone you trust who can, at least, visit them for a while every day until we return. This person has to give them food and water, in addition to playing with them (it would also be highly recommended if you took them out for a walk).
That way, our furry ones would feel good and could stay that way until we got back. In any case, to help them even more it is interesting to leave them food dispensers, such as the Kong, with which they can keep themselves entertained in those moments when they get bored.
Dogs do not like loneliness at all. They make them feel very bad, but they can also lead them to have behaviors that we will not like, such as breaking things. For this reason, whenever possible it will be better to take them with us wherever we go, as it will be the only way to make them really happy and content.
